Arap Moi Primary Wash Project

The Rotary Club of Ongata Rongai handed over tanks to Arap Moi primary school on 20th March 2021 in a ceremony attended by teachers led by the headteacher madam Rhoda, pupils, workers, parents and members of the school management board.
Arap Moi primary has about 2,300 pupils and lacks enough water harvesting and storage facilities that would enable it serve this huge population effectively.
The Rotary Club of Ongata Rongai under the tutelage of President Nahashon Mwiti, Projects Director Michael Nawari and the Project Coordinator David Ndome were able to install the tank in a very short time. This is part of the WASH Program (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) that Rotary is undertaking this Year specifically targeting needy Schools. The tanks were donated by Rongai Tiles & Sanitary Ltd and PN Evelyn Macharia.

The Rotarians also contributed to the installation of the tanks. The next tank will be delivered to Oldonyonyokie Girls Secondary School in the coming weeks.
Other than the tank installation, the Rotarians identified a child who was from a poor background
and they agreed to offer a scholarship in memory of Late Rtn. Patrick Gituku who was a champion
of the boy child.
There are still more schools that are in need of tanks and more well-wishers are welcome to partner with the Rotary Club of Ongata Rongai in equipping the community schools in dire need of water storage.
