Kiringo Water Project

The project started in 2018 at a budget of $ 30,000. Water distribution to families around the park has commenced. In addition, the community that relied on unprotracted water sources within the park running the fatal risk of being trampled by elephants that abound in this natural reserve are now safe and able to access the critical basic need for water.

The project is being led by Rotarian Engineer Gitonga who also hails from that area and assures monthly visits to ensure quality control and transparent reporting of the project. The Rotary Club of Ongata Rongai aims to develop sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions for vulnerable communities with the support of partners and the Rotary Foundation.

We are now in the second phase of planting fruit trees in the Kiringo area which will act as part of our seven areas of focus on the environment and as community sustainability.
