Earlier in the month of June, we as the Rotary club of Ongata Rongai got the opportunity to do a quick fundraiser to construct some shower rooms at Oldonyoyoike school, after a previous visit within the month. We got concerned when we noticed the girls were bathing in the open air which was attracting some idle outsiders.
We are happy with the little milestone which is just one of the many issues that they face daily like high pregnancy rate, sharing beds, lack of dining hall, lack of basic essentials as bathing soaps.
Currently, the rotary club of Ongata Rongai is fundraising to help construct a permanent ablution block for the school.
